When tomatoes first arrived in Europe, their golden hue sparked suspicion, as many believed them to be toxic. In France, however, yellow tomato plants came to symbolize romance, gifted by men as tokens of love to the women they admired. This drink is a love letter in a glass, a reminder that, like the misunderstood tomato, true meaning should never be lost in translation.

La storia di Babushka è il racconto agrodolce di un’anziana signora che rinuncia alle possibilità di scoprire nuove opportunità per non interrompere le faccende domestiche. La leggenda narra di tre viandanti che, seguendo una stella luminosa, incontrarono la signora e la invitarono a seguirli per trovare il nuovo Re. Quando il giorno dopo la donna decise finalmente di mettersi in viaggio, la stella era sparita e lei fu costretta a vagare di villaggio in villaggio per un tempo infinito. Babushka’s story is about an elderly woman who lived in a village who was obsessed with keeping her house extremely clean. One evening three gentlemen knock on her door who ask her to be fed and hosted, they tell her that they are following the brightest star in search of the new king of the sky and the earth, inviting her to go with them. However, she replied that she had to finish cleaning and fixing the house first, and that she would leave the next day. The star, however, was no longer visible so the old lady was forced to go from one village to another without ever stopping to reach the men. We were inspired by this story, imagining that the lady may have encountered new foods, herbs an spices. This is how our drink was born.
